The brand

Mudroom Co is a small Australian brand that makes home care tools for active families. We build for the way people actually use their houses, not the way the catalogue says they do. We launch in July 2026 with one product, The Shoe Wash Kit. More to follow. We are based in Melbourne and we are direct-to-consumer only.

The founder

Mudroom Co was started by Catherine, a mum of two teenage kids. After thirty years leading large scale property development projects in Australia, Catherine decided it was time to leave the corporate life to build a small brand the way she would have built a project. Quietly. Properly. From a position of caring about the detail others stopped noticing.

The problem we noticed

Most shoe wash bags on the market have no separation between the shoes to prevent scuffing and are predominantly yellow, dark green or grey in colour. Just as we know not to wash whites with bright colours or darks when doing our laundry, the same applies with our shoes. Do you really want to run the risk of colour transfer onto your shoes from putting them in a yellow or dark coloured polyester pouch?

The solution

The Shoe Wash Kit is built chalk cream inside and out. The eucalyptus zip, piping and tag are the only colour you see. We have tested to ISO 105-C06 grade 4 colour fastness, so there is zero dye transfer onto your shoes. Stress tested to 50 cycles at 60 degrees and 1400 rpm. The bag holds. The shoes come out the way they went in but cleaner.

What is next

The Shoe Wash Kit launches in July 2026 in the Chalk colourway. Later in the year, we will expand our product line with more tools for the life that happens here.
