The Shoe Trees
Built for active homes.
The shoe trees from The Shoe Wash Kit, on their own.
One pair of adjustable unisex shoe trees, US 5.5 to 14. A wet runner dries in whatever shape the drum left it in. A tree holds the toe box open and the heel upright through the wash and the air dry, so the pair dries in the shape you wear them.
Designed for the same shoes as the Bag. Runners, sneakers, trainers, gym shoes and kids' sports shoes, up to men's US 14 / AU 13.
Washing more than one pair a week? A second pair of trees means the next lot goes into the machine while the first is still drying.
Buying the Bag as well
The Shoe Wash Bag is $39.95 and the trees are $15, so the two bought separately are $54.95. The Shoe Wash Kit is $59.95 and adds the Uppers Shoe Brush and a calico storage bag for $5 more.
$15 plus postage. Designed in Melbourne. 30-day returns policy: thirty days to change your mind, with a prepaid Australia Post return label.

How it holds
Three compartments. This is the game changer.
01
Left shoe
One shoe on its own side, held by the padded chenille wall.
02
Laces and insoles
Out of the shoe and into the centre pocket, so nothing tangles or thrashes.
03
Right shoe
The other shoe on the other side. The pair never touches through the whole cycle.
One outer compartment per shoe so the pair never touches, plus a centre pocket for laces and insoles.

Other shoe laundry bags may be cheaper but they are cheaper because they do not provide the functionality and quality that is required to protect our shoes and the machine which are a big investments for most households. The cheaper bags fail across all of the areas that make the bag functional. Size, Dye transfer from fabric, Zip quality, Zip protection, Protection of the shoes from rubbing against each other, protection of the insoles and laces. This is why Mudroom Co designed and launched The Shoe Wash Bag. You no longer have to take the risk of putting your white sneakers that you paid $270+ for in all green, orange or yellow bags, worried that the dye will transfer to your shoes. Mudroom Co shoe wash bags are colourfast tested by independent inspectors to ISO standards. One of the many problems we solve with our shoe wash bag.
Step by step
The wash, in the order that matters.
01
Knock the mud off
Dry mud brushes off in under a minute with a soft brush. Wet mud sets in the wash, so this step is not optional.
02
Load the bag
One shoe each side, laces and insoles in the centre compartment. Zip closed and check the pull is tucked.
03
Cold, gentle, 600 to 800rpm
Cold water, gentle or delicate cycle, low spin. A towel or two in the drum keeps the load balanced and quiet.
04
Shoe trees, then air dry
Trees in while damp to hold the shape. Air dry out of direct sun. Never a dryer, never a heater.
Sunday night, not a project.
Questions you may have.
Australian experts say Yes but only canvas, mesh and synthetic shoes. Never leather or suede. Always in a wash bag that cushions the shoes and protects them from the drum. Only on a cold water, gentle cycle with a spin speed up to 800rpm. Read more here
