Mudroom Co is launching in July 2026 with its first product, The Shoe Wash Kit.
Put them in. Take them out. Done. Designed as a three compartment shoe wash bag, to protect your shoes and your washing machine.
The bag protects. The machine cleans.
A washing machine is a hostile environment for shoes. Drum impact. Spin force. Hot water. A cycle that was never designed with footwear in mind. The Shoe Wash Kit does not clean your shoes. It protects them while the machine does the work.
What it does
- ✓Holds two shoes in fixed compartments so they cannot bash the drum or each other.
- ✓Chalk cream chenille lining will not transfer colour onto white or light runners.
- ✓Hidden top-lid zipper with teeth facing inwards, locked for the full cycle.
- ✓Stress tested to 50 wash cycles at 60 degrees, 1400rpm spin.
What it will not do
- ✕Clean suede, leather, or nubuck. Those shoes do not belong in a machine.
- ✕Restore shoes that are already damaged. No laundry bag fixes worn adhesive.
- ✕Go in the dryer. Line dry, always.
- ✕Work in a traditional top-loader with a centre agitator.
Why we built Mudroom Co
Two teenage kids. A mudroom that is overflowing and constantly being organised. A washing machine running twice a day. I noticed the lack of quality tools and organisation systems available to make our busy lives easier and to protect those things we use everyday ensuring their longevity.
Shoe wash bags are a category with identified defects and complaints. Cheap zippers that pop open mid-cycle. Bright coloured linings that bleed onto the shoes you paid to protect. No sizing that matches real feet. Nobody actually speaking to households that run hard.
We started Mudroom Co because whilst the tools existed, I couldn't find them done properly for the life we live.
